Easter hunt or games for teenagers

My teen loves Easter and the fun of a hunt but I'm trying to think of new, more age fun ideas this year. As a toddler we used to do the typical egg hunt, then we did the hunt and each egg had a fun task in it to do, then we moved onto the treasure hunt style egg hunt where they had clues to find the eggs.

What do you do for the older children to make Easter fun. I know some might say they are too old, but they are kids at heart and still love to have fun but I'm trying to think of new ideas. Any suggestions will be lovely.

I'll just hang around here if that's OK.

can you tell them to set the clues for you to find the eggs? or each person has to set a trail of clues (different colour eggs) for the rest of the family. with things like that, setting up the trail becomes 1/2 the fun.

She wasn't asking to join a cult 😂

My kids are 13 and still love an egg hunt. Are there younger kids around that they could be involved in setting up the clues etc for?

Anything that was done in Reception - year 2 will usually go down an absolute storm with teenagers.

Easter Egg hunt.

Table with sprinkles, chocolate chips, all of the Dr Oetker decorations and icing for premade fairy cakes.

Making bunny ears and decorating blown eggs. Tissue paper flowers, egg box daffodils - anything that involves sugar and cutting and sticking and dressing up.

It's as though they realise their time as children is running out and they want to get it all in as quickly as possible before it's too late. 😔🐰🐣

How much time do you have? Could you set up an escape room type scenario where the egg is locked in a box and they have to work out how to free it?

ModerationInEverything · 04/04/2023 15:14

Was just going to suggest the escape room but pp best me to it. My friend has bought one from Amazon to do with her older children.

Mine have more complicated puzzles, quizzes and riddles to solve, then they have to unscramble an anagram to locate their eggs. It's always "Under the rhubarb", or "Behind the shed" etc but they enjoy playing along.

Comfyblueslippers · 04/04/2023 15:30

I did consider an escape room, I can't afford to buy one so I may have to try and make something up. I think I'm maybe overthinking the age and maybe just go back to how I used to do it as like the comments above have said, it will still be fun. Its a very quiet easter this year so only 2 kids. I've just been googling and I might use the empty plastic eggs which I hide for sporty activities once they are found. Who can throw the most in a basket, balance the egg on a head and walk round the garden - silly ideas but hopefully they will prolong the hunt and day.

Then maybe crafts.

Cheers for all the ideas so far. I will keep adding to my list when new ideas pop up

If you have FB look up the Bensen Bros. They do games for their families at holiday times.
