Thanks Cat! It’s currently sitting on top of the conservatory doors. Think it’s a baby robin and can obviously fly. What can I do to help it?

Keep the cat away from it and open the doors. If it can fly it'll find its own way out. Trying to catch it or shoe it out will only stress it more.

Put it outside on a fence or bush, it's mother will be close by and it can call to her. Keep your cat in for the day to give it chance to recover and fly away.

Yes, obviously separate from cat and open the windows/door to outside. If it doesn't move, then you might have to encourage it (or quickly put a box over it.

One thing that's worth is checking if the birds outside are tweeting. If so, let him out in that direction. I sometimes know one of ours has a bird as the bird community go crazy outside and you'd hope they'd spot him.

Yes echo the advise of PPs, listen out for robins tweeting and try to release in that vicinity, they'll find it. Catch with a tea towel (something without loops in the fabric as toes can get caught). Good luck!

Okay it’s out. I had to sort of encourage it to fly up into a large storage box and then tipped that into the garden.

you were right about the birds. They were going crazy. it bombed off into a tree and I hope it will be more wary next time.

cat now has a shiny new collar and bell which will last about three days before she ‘loses’ it.
