I live in leggings and T-shirt, and useless with fashion

I really want to live in something other than leggings and T-shirt but I'm overweight and my stomach is horrible, ie flabby from c section and baby! I just don't know where to start with losing weight and wearing different clothes, any advice?

Start with working out your BMI - theres an NHS calculator on website.
Then maybe work out your BMR.

Some of the options available:

  1. calorie counting and being strict
  2. Intermittent fasting maybe start with 12/12 then 14/10 then 16/8
  3. Exercise - walk, run, swim, cycle, whatever you like?

May be a good idea to keep a log of everything and regularly weigh yourself. The key is being consistent.

Good luck.

I love leggings and tshirts. I like to mix it up with fun prints and film/band tshirts.

But when I'm going out I wear swing dresses, they are very flattering and hide all the lumps and bumps! My favourite places are hell bunny, collectif, British retro. All quite reasonable in the sales, I got some hell bunny dresses for £12 each. If you need/want tights I highly recommend snag tights, great quality and the fit is amazing!

A decent well fitted pair of jeans with loose fit blouses are another favourite if I'm meeting friends.

Salsa push in jeans are very flattering if you want to hide a mummy tummy. They’re the only ones I’ve found that don’t cut in to my waist and give me indigestion. I highly recommend them.

They do sales and discounts every now and then, so it’s worth signing up to their mailing list.

There’s a little bit of stretch to the fabric too so they’re very comfortable to wear. But allow a half inch of shrinkage in the wash. I’d start by finding a very flattering pair of jeans because it’s still casual enough to run around after children but a more put together look than leggings.

Stop thinking about your weight and think instead of improving strength.
Diets don’t work.
I have just been doing reformer Pilates for a year and it has changed my life!
I feel so much stronger, I am toned, my posture is better.

I'm older.. ;-)
Tend to live in jumpers & jeans, am apple shaped & have had c section. I don't have a waist, so I avoid skirts, & go for things that emphasise hips & legs & hide the tum! Dresses are ok if they flatter & don't emphasise tummy. My favourite clothes are long shirts, straight or flared jeans (for balance, NEVER skinny jeans) & my fave leather jacket or long coats.

Thank you all! BMI is in the overweight category but last year it was 28 now it's 26 so it's coming down. I'm a evening snacker and am finding it very hard to stop that! Meant to go on a date night with husband next week and no idea what to wear!

Leggings and t shirts are just so comfortable that everything else just feels like a big faff and uncomfortable to wear especially when carrying exxtra weight. If you want to dress up a bit for date night then a dress is always good for that especially cotton jersey ones for coolness and best if they have pockets.

Restricting your food and calorie counting is probably a short term and miserable fix to be honest.

If your BMI is 26 then you're not hugely overweight.

Focus on upping your NEAT. It's the part of your daily calorie burn that comes from activity that isn't planned exercise or sleeping. Basically just focusing on adding extra movement in throughout the day - park at the back of the car park and walk a bit further etc.

Be a bit more mindful about what you eat but don't dive into any fad diets or fasting routines. They're not healthy in the long run.
