Costa Coffee and Caffe Nero - grubby?

Does anyone else think this? I just don't feel clean in these places. Stained seats and a scruffy feeling.

I would argue they have been grubby for a very long time, not new. Never wanted to go and sit and have a coffee in either as just grim, and I can recollect thinking like that for nearly 10 years. Yes I’ll do a takeaway but would never sit

What do you think of Muffin Break? It's a bit generic but much cleaner. I only ever get takeaway coffee though.

@JoanThursday1972 I love muffin break! They had one in the hospital where DS was born. Fond memories

Good lord. I wouldn’t even consider drinking a coffee that has been prepared by a Gay man (with a capital G). I can see why you’re so appalled.

WTF? Reported for homophobia.

Glad you reported, it was a vile comment.

Just been in our local Costa as it was an easy place to meet a friend. She asked for a mango smoothie/slushy thing and before she could get the full name out the staff shouted "we're out!" Rudely. Then another customer asked if they had anymore sandwiches for the chiller and they said "that's all there is" really shouty.
I rocked up to order and said "coffee frappe please" he blunty says "which one" I reply "small please" he goes "no which one" in a slow dense voice. If you're still with me, I said "I'm sorry do you mean a syrup with the coffee or something" he goes " oh right you want a coffee frappe" no apologies or "sorry I didn't catch what you said"
Jeez I'm suprised they are still open, the counter was filthy coffee grinds and empty milk containers everywhere.

I usually avoid these places like the plague, but a couple of weeks ago I arranged to meet a couple of friends in Costa as it was the only place open early evening other than the pubs (which we didn't want to go to as we were driving). I was absolutely appalled at how filthy the place was. There were 2 visible members of staff but hardly any customers. Tables were uncleared and unwiped for most of the evening and the seats were visibly stained. I won't be rushing back.

Starbucks and Costa are both filthy.

I was desperate for a drink and ended up in Starbucks in Manchester Piccadilly🤢

The toilet ( only one) was unisex. I had to wait for 4 people in front of me. When l went in there was toilet paper everywhere and a huge turd in the toilet. I left straight away, leaving my coffee on a filthy yablr

Yes Starbucks is mucky too.
