Vomiting from chicken pox?

Can chicken pox cause vomiting?

DD1 (3.5) came out in chicken pox last night. DD2 (11 months) has just vomited this morning but has no spots or any other symptoms. Could it be the start of chicken pox? Or do we have two bugs in the house? I could do without DD1 having chickenpox and a vomiting bug!

Possible you could have another bug or she vomited because she ate too much or uncomfortable etc. None of my 3 vomited during chicken pox and the youngest was 19 months when she had it last Christmas. Hope they feel better soon.

One of my clearest memories of having chicken pox many decades ago was getting to the doctor's car park and doing the most almighty chunder. So I'd say yes!!

I've known little ones vomit with chicken pox. Mine didn't but they had tummy aches and were off their food.

Mine vomited for one day but was after the spots had started

Thanks.

I know it doesn't really matter, in the sense that I can't do anything about it either way. It just wasn't a fun morning waking up to DD1 covered in spots (she just had a few last night) and then DH saying "err DD2 has just thrown up on me!"

It wasn't a huge amount, and since then she has kept down a bit of breakfast. So hopefully it's mild whatever it is! And DD1 isn't that bothered by her chicken pox so it could be worse.

It's certainly possible, but I hate to say, both are making the rounds at the moment. Half of dd's class has been off with a vomiting bug this week, and several from another class are off with chicken pox (ds hasn't had it yet).

We spent last Easter and the past 2 Christmases with COVID. I was starting to feel hopeful that this Easter would go smoothly.

DD2 actually had a vomiting bug about 4 weeks ago. So I was hoping she was done for a while 😭

DD (shes 5) has just started Easter hols, and woke up this morning with a snotty nose and high temp, all day hasn't really eaten and not moved from the sofa.. then this evening has thrown up bless her. I'm thinking it could be CP as it's going round the school rather than a cold virus.

WeWereInParis · 01/04/2023 21:57

DD2 is showing no signs of spots yet so I guess the vomiting wasn't CP related. I'm sure she'll catch it from DD1 though.

Poor DD1 is currently more pox than child at this point.

Nor here, shes slept well but no spots as of yet. I feel so bad for her, she was supposed to have a ballet show today but we've had to cancel our seats. In the February half term she had Strep..🙄just seems one thing after another!
