Residential summer camp 15 year old shy DD

Can anyone recommend a UK (pref SE/SW) camp for my shy-ish 15 year old DD?
I was really shocked because she asked if this was something she could do this year, she's never expressed an interest in anything like this before so I really want to encourage her to do it.

She'd be going alone so somewhere where it's easy to meet other kids her age, she's quite out doorsy, would preferably want her own room and if possible (very aware it might not be) girls only (it was on her list of wants when we went through it).

Thank you

My shy daughter went to PGL and loved it. Most kids don’t know each other when they arrive so it’s ideal.

Thank you both @Newpuppymummy - which one did your daughter go to?

My DD went to outward bound last summer. Did the ridge one, so 7 days and 2 days of camp. She absolutely loved it and met tons of kids who went on their own. One girl came all the way from Southern California.

She went to the one in Lancashire so too far for you but they have them all over the country. The staff are amazing at getting the kids relaxed and talking to each other from when they arrive.

This looks amazing but think it's a bit far from us.

Are there any rangers groups near you? Those might be of interest to her if she is looking for camps and would like to get to know people beforehand?

@Sandysandwich - I've not heard of them, I'll have a look

We're in London and my DD took their coach from Birmingham New St. Our train tickets there were £12 and the return journey on the coach was £50.

As long as you choose the Wales Outward Bound centre, they have various coach routes in the SE.

Thank you - good to know

They also have an excellent bursary scheme that's worth applying for. If you're low on funds, the Tony Trust also provides funding for residential trips.

Amazing, thank you
