I've had quite a drastic new haircut this morning, we both WFH, DH hasn't yet noticed. (He's now had 4 seperate conversations and lunch with me). He knew I was going, but is so wrapped up in his own day, that just hasn't noticed. How long does it normally take your partner to notice?

DH likes to think he's observant and attendant.

I very much enjoy floating up to him all happy and expectant saying ''well - what do you think ...?!'', and watching him sweat while he tries to spot something 😂😂

Erm .. is it ... you've done your ... no it's your ... no! you've um .... you've got new ... no, i mean, i can see it! you've .... um ... had your ... oh it's your hair!!

I though that nowadays you're not supposed to even notice other people's appearance, and actually commenting on it is akin to abuse and assault?

I NEVER notice haircuts, on anyone. Its not that I dont care, its just that I dont see them. Other smaller things I notice instantly but unless I know a haircut is happening in my friends/families lives I will not notice.
Also, if you go blond to brunette and then back to blonde I may observe it the first time but not again. Its like my brain says Sarah is blonde, oh now Sarah is brunette and then stores both looks forever. Sarah can go back and forth and it wont register as a change as I remember it as the norm. I assume its the same with length.
I have to make an effort to remember what people have said about their hair so I can make polite comments.
Change in makeup, jewellery, clothes, facial hair, home furnishings, plants in the garden etc. I notice straight away.
I think the hair part in my brain may be broken
