Wales holiday weather?

I’ve never been on holiday to Wales and we’ve booked somewhere near Aberdovey in May half term (so late May/early June). After book (I know!) I’ve seen that Wales is typically quite a bit cooler than I thought. I’m a bit worried that if it rains the whole time it will be miserable.

Any Welsh holiday veterans out there?

You don't come to Wales for the weather, it's renowned for its rain (and therefore lush green countryside). Aberdyfi is lovely though, so just make the most of the breaks in the downpours.

It's not hugely different to the rest of the UK in terms of climate though, so don't feel like you're going to foreign climes. Just don't forget your cagoules.

Bring your wet gear, hope for dry weather. Aberdyfi is great, you lucky things.

Any UK holiday will always have risk of rain. Be prepared with wet weather gear, and have ideas for indoor activities

Wales in beautiful and green. There's a reason why.

Completely unpredictable, could be glorious wall to wall sunshine, could chuck it down every day. Just like anywhere else in the UK really.

We’ve been in Norfolk the last few years and had absolutely incredible weather for U.K, so I think I’ve been spoilt.

Making a list now for Wales to include wellies and waterproof trousers! Also lots of board games….

It's really not that bad. As a pp said, you can have wall to wall sunshine in May. You may get a couple more mm of rain than the rest of the UK, that's all. It's not a sunseeker's destination, but it's essentially just like the rest of the UK - these isles aren't that big.

We almost always do a break in Wales in May half term. Last year we had glorious sunshine (Tenby way) and the year before it rained one day. Basically it could go either way but with a bit of luck you'll have a good run of decent weather.

The west coast of Scotland Wales and England are wetter. Living in Wales the rain arrives in mid July to the beginning of September here on the n Wales coast. May and June are lovely.
