Hi
I'm drowning in online quotes - help me please Smile.

DS is 17 on Tuesday and will be starting to learn so obviously need insurance. He will be driving my car, but the quote I've had through my own insurance feels pretty high, also don't know what happens when he passes. Do we cancel and get different insurance?

Any recommendations much appreciated.

Adrian Flux and get the insurance in his name not yours protects your no claims discount. I paid £300.00 for 12 months cover also covers the test. DS passed after 6 months at 17 and a half years old no refund though. Good luck 🤞

Marmalade do this type of insurance too I think 🤔

As soon as he passes he’s no longer insured though so remember that if he passes 👍

Thanks @Thebreakfastclub2023 one he can keep once he passes sounds good. I got a quote from Marmalade but worried they seem a bit gimmicky.

You go on your account and book driving ‘days’ . A certificate of insurance is then sent via e mail that covers each driving day. You don’t need to book in advance , so whenever ds fancies a drive out you can just go on and book.

Actually maybe my own insurance isn't that bad then at £190 until December when I renew.

@Whenisitsummer I think that sounds good for a reliable young person, but DS is like jelly to pin down Grin so I'd anticipate it causing me some stress to register each time he went out.

Mind you looks like Marmalade doesn't change cost once he passes test, so maybe not such a bad option after all.
