Mine is the study! It’s quite a large room that fits a couch at one end. Big windows that overlook the back garden, lots of trees with birds visiting.
Lovely afternoon sun. Can watch the clouds roll in when it’s about to rain. Soft lamps. Perfect room to relax in.

How about you?

My favourite place to sit in my home is on the balcony of one of our 17 bedrooms ... It's in the west wing. It's a 10 feet long, 6 feet deep balcony, and it faces west, but you can look south too from the balcony (as it's 6 feet deep...)

I love to watch the sunsets over the sea, and look at the woodlands, and the fields, and the lakes, as far as the eye can see across our 155 acres of land.

It's so amazing and precious and magical to see the ever-changing seasons, the roaring sea when it's stormy, the beautiful landscape across our vast land, the stunning rainbows, and the beautiful cumulus-cloud filled skies. It's a spectacular sight to see when the land is covered in sweet, gentle, unspoilt snow.

I love to see the deer running merrily across our land, our horses gently galloping around the fields, and the birds flying across the sky singing at the top of their sweet voices. I can hear the sweet and delicate voices of the children laughing and singing, over yonder in the north wing, and I'm not going to lie, it brings a tear to my eye.

I have sat on this balcony in room 17 looking at the roaring sea, breathing in the sweet Spring air, listening to the birds singing sweetly, with the children laughing heartily, and I have fallen to my knees and wept. Wept with how beautiful at all is, and how I am blessed. My heart is so full of love, and I am actually shaking writing this, and a tear is gently rolling down my soft cheek.

Sitting room or bedroom, with 4 cats sprawled 😃

I've got an old car seat I've put out in front of the house and I like to sit on that.

Do you look out onto a heartbreakingly lovely and ever-changing landscape of old mattresses with springs sticking out, car batteries and fag ends?

LanaDelRabies · 25/03/2023 12:40

On the old sofa in the back yard. We were going to get rid of it when we got our new one a few years back but it was so lovely being able to drink and listen to music al fresco throughout lockdown we decided to keep it. It gets a bit whiffy (next door's cat loves it too!) but a good downpour usually sorts it out.

Talking of next door you should see the looks they give us over the fence, pure jealousy!

Either the dining room, at the table in front of the window looking out into the garden, or in the summerhouse in the garden where I can listen to the birds and stuff.

TheChosenTwo · 25/03/2023 12:48

The kitchen sofa, it looks out onto the chickens (usually) roaming about the back garden and it’s so peaceful. Until someone comes in to find me for a bloody chat 😂

In the living room, on the sofa that is against the outside wall. We live on a main road and I love watching the endless stream of vehicles and people passing by. I usually have the radio on next to me too :)
