Not answering your questions but hopefully helpful anyway - you should go straight in for a Level 3. The jump up a level is minimal and the qualification is much more useful for ratios so you’ll be much more employable.

Wouldn't bother with level 2 - I'd go straight into level 3. Great level 3 Practioners are worth their weight in gold.
In my setting for instance only level 3 are allowed in garden area and there has to be a level 3 in the room at all times. Level 2 are treated same way as an apprentice is.
I didn't bother with level 2 and did my level 3 at 40 years old and haven't looked back since

Often the difference between level 2 and 3 is your English level rather than the subject level.

Good luck

Here is the link to the L3. www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/early-years-educator-v1-2

There are no pre-requisites needed but if you don't have English and maths at L2 (C at GCSE) then you'll need to do these when on programme which would be provided by the training provider/college.

Feel free to ask away about how apprenticeships work in general; I am an SME. In terms of the work you'll need to do, have a look at the End Point Assessment Plan at the link to help you form an idea of how your curriculum will be shaped towards the final independent assessments.

There are some other on programme qualifications you will need too whilst studying which are all listed, like first aid training. Best of luck.

Would you be interested in being a childminder instead? The Budget was offering money as an incentive for people to sign up.
