Does this sounds like a normal diet?

For a woman. Late 30s. Bmi 21.

Breakfast - 40g porridge made with semi skimmed milk and mixed berries

Lunch - 1 wholemeal roll with chicken, salmon/tuna or egg. At weekends a more substantial lunch maybe a cheese toastie, soup and crusty bread, sub roll with salad cured meat and cheese.

Evening meal - Fajitas, spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne, homemade curry, homemade pasta dish, roast. All very normal sized portions for example curry would be 100g of chicken, 75g of rice, half a naan and a ladle of sauce.

A yoghurt for dessert each day either Greek yoghurt with fruit or a muller corner type thing.

Other treats rarely. So crisps, chocolate or a takeaway once a month. No booze.

Would you lose, maintain or gain weight?

All normal, but can I suggest you eat more veg and basic fruit? Do you have salad with your roll at lunchtime? Eat an apple, pear or banana mid-afternoon and that will stave off the hunger pangs until dinner time.

I agree, are you eating a third of your plate with veg or salad? Fruit? You shouldn't be hungry.

Im usually ok until about 4 o'clock when I am crazy hungry.

My body does not work well with the way of eating, which is low fat and high carb. It would set off my blood sugar and I would be ravenous a couple of hours after each meal.

The way it works for me, and others too, is that the food say the porridge oats raise my blood sugar over a couple of hours, which triggers release of insulin to clear out the blood sugar. My brain noticed the drop in blood sugar and thinks 'I'm starving ' so I feel ravenous and as if I have to eat something.

Lots of people I know eat in the way you describe, including my mother and sister and would even possibly loose weight on what you are eating. They would use will power to not eat when they are hungry.

Low carb high fat works much better for me, keeps my blood sugar very stable (I have worn a blood sugar monitor so I know this to be true) and I genuinely do not feel hungry ever. Well, very very seldom and my appetite reduces too. So long as I do not eat from boredom or any job-Hungary related reasons, it's all good.

There is a brilliant thread about this way of eating called 'low carb high fat bootcamp' You would be very welcome to come and try it out.

I lost over 30kgs last year and my weight continues to go down while I enjoy eating really good tasty food.
