And you had a subsequent xray, would the mended-break show up?

Yes, I imagine it would.
Why do you ask?

Advancedpie · 20/03/2023 08:53

When it was snowy & icey I fell very hard on the ice and landed sharply on my left hand. It was extremely painful but it never went purple or swollen. I still get a shock of pain holding the kettle & I had to give up doing aquarobics with underwater weights.

Yes, this happened to my thumb. No idea I had ever broken it but apparently I did years ago and it showed up as a mended fracture on x Ray.

I think they show even if they've been fixed because when ds fractured his arm fir the second time they said something about it.

It should do - my husband went in for an xray for something else and they asked if he was aware that he's fractured almost all of his fingers at one stage or another.

Hellocatshome · 20/03/2023 09:07

Yes most likely but depending where the break is and how it has healed they may not be able to do anything about it now.

Reading with interest.

I cracked my shin an absolute belter in summer 2020 - the sort of pain where you can't breathe or make any noise or think of anything else. It was sore to the touch for months after the lump and bruising went away but I ignored it.

Then I slipped walking down the stairs a couple of months ago and bashed my shin again. It's still painful to the touch now and I'm wondering if I should have it looked at, or if there's even any point.

(I'm dyspraxic so ridiculous injuries are par for the course!)
