Any idea who best to see about this? (warning- manky toenail pic!)

This is my big toe Blush
It's always been a bit horrible but I usually just cover it up with nail varnish in the summer when I wear sandals. This year it's definitely got worse, and one side has stopped growing I think and is growing in now, so it's a horrible shape as well as looking weird. There's always been lots of white flaky stuff under it and it's very thick Blush

I've tried the pharmacy for fungal cream, but they were really rubbish and unhelpful- is it something you see a dr about, or would they just look at me as if I'm wasting their time?!
Or a chiropodist?
Or something/one else?
I've tried various things over the years like teatree oil, Vicks rubbed on it etc, but nothing has changed it.

Any magic solutions from anyone who's ever looked like this?!

I've got the exact problem and decided to sort it out once and for all, booked in to seeing a chiropodist this week for possible nail removal - or treatment if they can save it!

Tea tree oil applied with a cotton bud twice daily sorted mine out in two weeks.

Mine hadn't gotten to the point of not growing but I had a pretty bad fungal infection that I tried for years to get rid of but couldn't. What eventually worked was buying hard-core toenail clippers and an electric nail file from amazon with changeable pads. I cleaned out as much of that white crap as I could, trimmed the nail back as far as possible and filed it back even more and filed the top down to make it as thin as possible. I would then apply tea-tree and eucalyptus oil daily, then (obviously disinfecting the equipment in between) every so often would trim back and file again. They looked ridiculous for a while as I had them trimmed back so much but it was worth it as eventually they started growing back in normally, took about 1-2 years though so not a fast process.

Go and see a podiatrist, the nail doesn't look to bad! A podiatrist can get you and the nail back on track
