Selling Vintage plus size clothes - Vinted? Ebay?

Aunt and Uncle are downsizing and have asked me to help sell some of their clothes. They used to do a lot of socialising and both have plenty of good quality 'going out' clothes. Some probably 20+ years old, so Vintage I presume. Some more recent. Many with tags. Aunt tells me they're 'all designer' but I don't recognise some of the labels. Is there somewhere I can check out labels?

Both their weights have fluctuated over the years so Aunt's clothes range from size 20 to size 28. Uncle's are XL to XXXL. There's also shoes - all seem very wide. Some of Aunt's clothes are what she would have worn to dinner dances or weddings or on cruises.

We've agreed that anything that's likely to raise below £20 will go to the charity shop and I'll attempt to sell the rest.

Is there a market for this sort of stuff? EBay? Vinted? Anywhere else? What's worth advertising and what's not? How do I decide on price?

Have sold some baby clothes on Vinted in the past and a few collectables on EBAY but that's the extent of my experience.

Don't want to sell the whole lot to someone who buys up old clothes as that wouldn't sit well with Aunt and Uncle as they'd feel they'd been ripped off.

Would like to get them as much as I can but don't have endless hours to devote to the project. How do I do this?

EBay charges you. Vinted is free.

Youll need to be realistic with prices. I’ve sold a lot for under £10 on Vinted. It takes seconds to upload. EBay takes longer. Vinted you can offer and buy straight away. EBay you usually have to wait for the sale to finish. I do think you are unrealistic only wanting to sell stuff that will get more than £20. That’s a lot on Vinted and eBay. Can you test a few items first. I don’t shop on eBay now. Much prefer Vinted.

Interesting Murphyturphy that you feel £20 is unrealistic. That was a figure we plucked out of the air so we may need to amend that. Good idea to test a few items.

What age range are the clothes for? If they’d appeal to an older market I’d go with eBay

Also, if you use Vinted and do want £20 for something, stick it on at £23 or £25. People will offer you less and you can accept or decline and hopefully get your £20. It’s easy to do a price change on Vinted if you aren’t getting any offers. With eBay I think you need to start again with the advert.

It all depends on whether these clothes are desirable or not, are they good staples or fashionable? They are not vintage but good quality clothes that are 20 years old people will want if they are the right style. Saying that £20 each is probably optimistic. What brands are they?

I've had a good look at the clothes - Frank Usher, Rackhams, old style Marks and Spencer labels and others.

I'd say they are special occasion clothes suitable for a ball, wedding, cruise evening wear.

'Reddota' what styles are viewed as desirable?

@Chantille

There is quite a lot of vintage clothing on Etsy, maybe have a look on there for ideas of price
