Late 40s and 'the rage'!

I don't know what's wrong with me lately, I'm 48 and the last few months I find myself feeling so angry and irritated by everyone. I guess it's got to do with approaching menopause age?

I didn't realise HRT would help with this. I wouldn't say I feel irrational rage but when something does legitimately make me angry, the anger completely overwhelms me and can take days to leave my body. I actually started a thread on it here a few days ago - where does anger go. I am increasingly anxious, am looking forward to the not giving a fuck feeling.

I think when you hit peri/menopause you are forced to realise in no uncertain terms that whilst you might have many good years left, you have far more behind you and with that comes considerably less tolerance for bullshit in others.

It’s quite liberating once you get used to it.

This. I'm 42, post meno and reckon I've probably got maybe 30 years left. It's a sobering thought.

I'm nearly 60 and finished going through the menopause 6 years ago,but it's only in the last year or so that I find that I'm becoming increasingly enraged by other people's behaviour! Just a few examples that have happened in the last week:-
Someone sitting behind me on the bus kept kicking the back of my seat. I felt murderous with rage by the time they fucked got off.
Sitting in a coffee shop,a group of blokes a couple of tables away were getting increasingly loud. I be felt like putting my fingers in my ears.
Girl in front of me in the queue in Subway said 'Can I get....'. It's not 'Can I get....' it's can I/may I have! Infuriates me beyond reason!
I think I'm just becoming a grumpy old woman.

I must have been through the menopause, only know because I've not had a period for a few years, but I've never had any other symptoms whatsoever

I actually had the opposite reaction and became really calm….

Same, I've always been quite an angry and stressed out person. Now I'm 41 and give much less of a fuck about everything and everyone and I'm calmer as a result.

Everything and most people have become and inconvenience! My children tell me that I will find myself in a nursing home, is there an option for checking that off early? If I sign up, will you leave me alone?
