Watching suffragette again and it just made me think that this is a film people should watch. Even if it’s only the once.

Will make sure dd will watch it when she’s old enough to understand and appreciate it.

Schindlers List is another one.

Requiem for a dream disturbed me for weeks.

Cider House rules is another one that is a must see imo.

Fargo another, I enjoy the humour of the Coen brothers.

12 years a slave. Lots of films have made me cry. But that’s the only one that made me cry three days after I saw it, when I thought about poor Patsy.

As well, I think everyone should watch The Shining. And The Wizard Of Oz. Probably in that order.

GrumpyPanda · 16/03/2023 23:10

Wings of Desire. Blew me over when it first came out. Rewatched a couple of times as a middle-aged woman though and find myself getting a bit annoyed at the sheer male-gaziness of those angels.

Repentance, by Tengiz Abuladze. Just saw it's now available on YouTube with English subtitles.

Urga - Close to Eden by Nikita Mikhalkov, on a Russian truck driver stuck in the Mongolian desert. An early film of Mikhalkov's before he became a swivel-eyed nationalist.
