Exactly as the title says? I want to change directions (currently in Education) but no idea where to start.

So much of it for me is about the people I work with. I’ve worked for a start up the last 6 years, followed my boss from another small company. As my children have grown I’ve been able to name my job, picking what I am interested in (just so happens to benefit the business too), increasing my hours and becoming more involved.

It’s a values fit, the people I deal with are kind, respectful and interesting and my colleagues are wonderful.

As for my boss, he’s the dogs. I’d literally walk over coals for him. He’s appreciative, fair, sees potential, calm, and an all round good egg.

I'm an office manager in a Building/Maintenance company and I adore it. I'm the only woman there but have the best colleagues anyone could ever ask for.

I’m an Occupational Therapist working with people in the community who have long term neurological conditions. I enable people to manage their conditions in order to maintain their chosen lifestyle as much as possible.
There is no better job.

Speech and language therapist working with people with learning disabilities. Very rewarding, very intellectually stimulating, and always something different.

Another one doing this. As well as working with adults with learning disabilities I also work as an SLT with young people who are (usually) out of school. And I manage a team of support workers which I absolutely love (to my surprise 😁)

I honestly love everything about my job, it is a joy, and rarely feels like work, but I particularly love the people I spend my time with - both colleagues and clients.

TA in a SEN school. About to embark on getting my QTS to work in the same school. Can't see myself ever returning to mainstream.

Teacher in a specialist provision - have you considered this, @disappointed101? It is very different to Mainstream.

I run my own dog walking business.

Primary school teacher. In reception at the moment. Yes it's stressful but still love it. Not all teachers hate their jobs!
