Best way to book a Disneyland holiday

I'm wanting to take my teen DD to Disneyland for my 50th birthday - just me and her, as a special treat. My birthday is end of May but we could go anytime as long as I've got it booked.

I'm assuming Disneyland Paris is cheapest if going from Scotland - does anyone have any advice about where to start in terms of booking on a budget? And also any advice about where to stay etc. I've been once to the Florida one about 13 years ago.

Any advice welcome!

DLP is by far the cheapest, and booking direct through disneylandparis.co.uk will get you the cheapest combination of hotel and tickets.

I have been several times, but not since late 2019.
Disneyland Paris is very much more compact than Disneyworld, Florida.
I always booked through the DLP website, so direct with Disney. There are quite often special deals. It’s just a matter of what works for you.
The on site Disney hotels are part of the experience as far as I am concerned, although there are cheaper offsite options.
Budget for hotel and park tickets would be around £1200 for both for 2 nights/ 3 days. It will be cheaper than that sometimes and more in very peak times.
I would try to avoid peak times if you have a choice. Queues can be dreadful.
I assume you would need to fly if coming from Scotland. There is a bookable shuttle service from the airport.

Paris will be cheaper than Florida, but I'd check both we were quoted just under £5k for 5 nights 4 people in Paris, that was for Eurostar, park tickets and Disney hotel including breakfast, but it was only £1k more to go to Florida for 10 nights, that was flights park tickets and Disney hotel.
So while Paris was cheaper we felt for the price it's was worth paying a small bit extra and going to Florida, because honestly Paris is not even in the same league as Florida.

I've said it's not in the same league, but we still had a great time when we've done Paris, so would still recommend it.

As previously said, Paris is lovely, but it really is incomparable to Florida. It’s more comparable to Alton Towers size wise (although far far better).

If you just want a shorter, less hassle break, then Paris is perfect. But if it is just about cost, then do look at Florida. If you can travel in term time, then often the price difference is not as great as you might think.

Yes, Disneyland Paris is nothing like the Florida one.
if you can afford Florida, I’d go there. Otherwise have lower expectations…

I guess coming from Scotland you would be looking at flights.

It is super easy (and reasonably priced) to get over by train or car if down South, but this would be a very long journey from Scotland.

There is a very helpful Facebook group called Disneyland Paris for Brits which is worth joining.

However, I would look at Florida quotes as well. Hotel and accommodation prices are much lower in Florida than they are in Paris, and as your transport costs are possibly quite high anyway coming from Scotland, you may find the difference in the price of a flight to Florida not that huge. Especially if you are flexible with dates.
