Anyone else watch her programme on Autism?

I identified with much of what was being said. It felt like a 'lightbulb' moment for me and I really admire her for addressing this topic. I did not know much about her before this other than that she was a beauty queen who married Paddy McGuinness. She seems like such a switched on intelligent and empathetic lady.

I saw it. I knew nothing about her but have an active interest in late diagnosis and girls. She came across really well I thought and I am in awe of her being so open. A great programme on an important subject.

She's very sweet. Hope everything gets better for her, and Paddy too.

Completely agree, I was in awe of her too. Really open and honest. I felt quite emotional on her behalf.

I will watch this on catch up later. It is such a huge topic, particularly because neurodivergent girls are targeted for their vulnerability.

As a parent of two autistic children, daughter and son, I worry a lot about them being sexually abused. It’s a massive problem and well done for it finally being talked about.

The other big issue is drugs. The high functioning kids and those with ADD are so susceptible to drug addiction. No one talks about it but it’s a big problem. They take the drugs to try and regulate themselves.

I thought it was very brave of her to even make the documentary. As a parent of a dd on the waiting list for ASD assessment, I welcomed someone shining a spotlight on autism in girls. How it is often not recognised because the tools used to diagnose are biased towards male presentations. How girls and women with autism are more susceptible to eating disorders and sexual exploitation. It needed saying. I think the horrendous waiting times in this country for assessment and diagnosis could also do with highlighting. Child mental health services are crying out for investment and families are struggling.
