Registering with 2 dentists- will I be struck off?

I am very fortunate to have an NHS dentist but it's very hard to get an appointment and they don't have a hygienist. I am wondering if I can go to a different (private) dentist for a check up and a hygiene appointment but still keep my NHS dentist for my standard yearly check up? I am worried that I might be struck off my NHS dentist if my NHS number registers elsewhere.

Has anyone ever done this?

You won't get struck off unless you miss your NHS check ups for too long.

Yes, you can.

I have an NHS dentist, but they don't currently have an NHS dentist for me to see.

I go to them to see the hygienist, and then have dental check ups and work done with a semi private dental surgery.

I'm actually assuming this is ok, as the receptionist suggested it.

It is allowed.

Absolutely fine.

There is no such thing as registration for NHS dentist in England and Wales , although many dentists try to prioritise their "regular" patients .

In Scotland and Northern Ireland there is registration but it only applies to NHS dentists so seeing a dentist or hygienist privately will not affect this registration.
