Recommend a tablet for my toddler?

I’m looking for recommendations for a tablet or similar device. It would just be for any long periods of travel in the car where they tend to get bored and impatient. I wasn’t keen on getting one but saw a kid in a restaurant recently happily watching one and maybe it’s a good idea.

Would need it to play Netflix and YouTube so they could watch a show, and ideally be somewhat indestructible.

I don’t really have a budget.

Thanks!

We have a kindle fire, was tempted by all the colourful games and the case, and the price, but the battery life is awful, and it cant do any games beyond the basic ones or they get very slow and force close. We use an ipad now

@Username721 just bought my DS a galaxy tab A8 64gb paid £189 from Curry's, then got the case and screen protector off Amazon. He plays the bimi boo games which focus on shapes and I've downloaded some other games which are alphabet/numbers etc. I do limit his screen time (I used to be anti tech for kids.... before I had one! 🤣) but we are in a technological times now and tech is going NOWHERE, it'll just advance more and more. Also they are a god send when i need to cook tea and do little chores without him at my ankles!
My DS also loved super simple songs and Ms Rachel but he started saying capital alphabet letters and I swear he sounded American so I've turned to Boey Bear now it's English and educational. Also Mr Tumble!

As long as you limit the time and don't let him sit staring at it for hours I can't see the problem

Tablets are handy, but always use headphones in pubs / restaurants etc.
So many parents think it's acceptable to have a tablet blasting out kid's shows on loudspeaker - no one else wants to hear that, and headphones are cheap enough!
