Mine is Zombieland. I love the different types of zombies, the rules, and the mix of characters.
Yours?

I know it's technically not zombies, but The Last of Us.
TWD just went on too long.

NotyouGuillermo · 13/03/2023 21:39

Scouts guide the the Zombie apocalypse. It’s my ‘feeling meh’ film.

WorstBJever · 13/03/2023 21:40

Dawn of the Dead remake is brilliant. Also enjoyed Dead Set and Zombieland. The Night Eats the World is worth a look too. (Disclaimer, I'm not actually that bothered about Zombie films-Shaun of the Dead is my level-but DH is a real connoisseur so I've discovered lots of great films through him)

IHeartGeneHunt · 13/03/2023 21:44

I love all zombie everything. Recently watched Day of the Dead the series, very good zombies and I really liked it.
Black Summer is good, Z Nation has good bits and ridiculous bits, I liked Fear The Walking Dead until series 3 ended. The Walking Dead was good until Negan.

Return of the Living Dead is one of my favourites.
In the Flesh is great, and Kingdom (on Netflix) I really liked.
All zombies are good though. I find end of the world walking corpses strangely calming.

onwardandupwards · 13/03/2023 21:50

I liked the film warm bodies!

Vulcanodon · 14/03/2023 00:18

I liked Kingdom and Ashin of the north. The Koreans know how to do zombies!

Rubyupbeat · 14/03/2023 00:59

I am a huge zombie film fan, mine is
'28 days later' I've watched it so many times.

pompomdaisy · 14/03/2023 02:43

The one where he lives on a plane and fancies that girl?!

Elvira2000 · 14/03/2023 05:07

Train To Busan
All of Us are Dead

The korean zombie movies and the tv program are really good.

PopsicleHustler · 14/03/2023 05:17

Carpetbagger on YouTube actually goes to a zombie film based museum, which is excellent and shows everything from modern zombie movies to oldies. If anyone doesn't know who he is , he travels around America filming random abandoned places, museums, roadside attractions and places of curiosities. Really excellent channel.

PopsicleHustler · 14/03/2023 05:19

World war z is excellent
Shaun of the dead, hilarious
I am legend is great and love the alternative ending.
Dawn of the dead, minus all the swearing. The idea of being locked up in a mall was great.

play017 · 14/03/2023 07:06

Korean series kingdom is my favourite!

The carnival of souls black and white 60s era genre film
A Cult classic American film that kick started zombie genre 🎥 films

It's interesting film to watch with many difference layers to this

It's a must see film,

This was the only film this film director made

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 14/03/2023 07:32

I am Legend.

Also, dh is watching the last of us and I get drawn in every episode.

I watched this when I was really young and the 'twist' blew my mind.

CrunchyCarrot · 14/03/2023 07:42

I did love Z Nation and The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead, also Shaun of the Dead.

Some may not have heard of Zomboat! a zombie black comedy set in the UK.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 14/03/2023 07:51

Ahhh this is my favourite genre but it has got tired in recent years.

Dead Set is excellent and so clever with the Big Brother back drop

Rec: a Spanish found footage film. Again excellent.

I wanted to love World War Z as the book is so well written but the film bears no resemblance. But agree the feeling of dread at the Israel wall scene as you realise what's coming and ignore the glaring plot holes

And of course 28 Days later is just superb

I would LOVE to sed what Jordan Peele could do with the premise Smile

OldWeegie · 13/03/2023 01:12

World War Z - beginning filmed in Glasgow's George Square. Also the scene where they climb to the top of the safety wall in Israel.

I used to think zombies were slow until I watched Dead Set.

Shaun of the Dead is always re-watchable. And which makes me wonder what I would do if it happened where I live now.

Anna of the Apocalypse for irrepressible teens and catchy songs.

How could I forget Shaun of the Dead, so so good. Apparently Simon Pegg is a huge Max Brooks fan

Goawaypeppa · 13/03/2023 07:55

28 days later, while excellent, is not a zombie film.

They aren’t the undead. They are alive and infected with a virus.

That's a very good point

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 14/03/2023 07:53

World War Z could have been an excellent series

Littlegoth · 14/03/2023 07:53

The REC series (Spanish)
Le Horde (French - bloody brilliant)
World War Z
the Argento cut of Romero’s Dawn of the Dead
Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead
Train to Busan

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 14/03/2023 07:55

Dancingonthemoonlight · 13/03/2023 21:18

Genuinely shocked nobody has said resident evil, hands down the best game franchise for zombies and the first few movies are great.

Agree loved the first few

And yes, Train to Busan and Alive are brilliant albeit very stressful to watch Grin

Amandasummers · 13/03/2023 21:34

I'm a big lover of TWD and fear TWD. Loved all of us are dead on Netflix too!

(Santa clarita diet is a great shout! Loved it, absolutely gutted it was cancelled)

Series 1 of Fear is great, I'm always interested to see the "early days" of apocalypse stuff

It would be derivative and chaotic for sure.
