Anyone have totally different pregnancies and have the same gender both times?

I’m very early pregnant, 6 weeks maybe and my symptoms are awful. All day sickness, back pain, feeling exhausted; basically completely different to my first pregnancy nearly 5 years to the day ago.
The receptionist at my Drs casually said it’s probably a boy then as I have a DD already and it’s got me thinking, a lot of my friends have had wildly different pregnancies and had the opposite to what they had had previously.

Not that it matters; just curiosity!

Very different pregnancies here but same sex. Different cravings, different symptoms, different bump and weight gain.

NewtoHolland · 11/03/2023 15:51

All very different all babies same gender xx

Bitterestpil · 11/03/2023 15:52

I have two children 12 months apart. My first pregnancy I absolutely flew through with barely any problems. The second pregnancy I was sick from the beginning to the end it was awful. Everybody kept saying you’re having a change of sex, load of rubbish cos I have two daughters.

I'm the opposite; exactly the same symptoms, shape, weight gain, cravings etc. for both sexes.

LadyMcLadyface · 11/03/2023 15:56

I felt rotten with both pregnancies but in different ways, both boys.

desperadodogface · 11/03/2023 16:11

Wildly different here- sickness and exhaustion all way through with DD1. Barely any sickness and felt good with DD2. Only side effect was hideous constipation which I didn't have with DD1

SeasonFinale · 11/03/2023 16:14

Totally different - all boys

WhereAreTheChocButtons · 11/03/2023 16:15

Other way around here.
All exactly same pregnancies, no sickeness. No cravings, tiredness, carried same shape too. But have had both sexes.

YourUserNameMustBeAtLeast3Characters · 11/03/2023 16:16

Very different- both boys (although one much bigger than the other, which accounts for how different I felt in the second half of my pregnancies).

Very different births too (second one practically a sneeze birth)

Me too.

Same cravings for both - fizzy drinks, tropical fruit, cold crunchy things.

Sick for both - bad morning sickness for girl, full blown HG for boy.

SirChenjins · 11/03/2023 16:18

Same terrible morning sickness but it was definitely worse with my daughter than it was with my sons. I’ve heard that it can vary depending on the sex of the baby (gender is irrelevant at this stage Wink), but I don’t think that’s true.

KohlaParasaurus · 11/03/2023 16:23

All my pregnancies were very similar in terms of symptoms (a bit of morning sickness early on, put on masses of weight, no complications) and I had babies of both sexes.

PortalooSunset · 11/03/2023 16:52

I did. First time I was sick as a dog throughout but somehow managed to gain ridiculous amounts of weight. Second time initially a bit queasy but all gone by around 12 weeks. Craved salad and apples (v disappointing!). Gained nowhere near as much weight and was back in pre pregnancy clothes in within a week.

HamstersAreMyLife · 11/03/2023 16:53

Yep

OutofControl3 · 11/03/2023 16:53

Yes all mine different 3 boys 1 girl!

aSpanielintheworks · 11/03/2023 17:10

Three identical pregnancies here, same early symptoms, same cravings, same shape.
DD1 DS2 DD3

LampsWantLove · 11/03/2023 17:14

Completely different pregnancies, I had mild morning sickness with Ds1, bit tired but horrifically ill second time round, I lost weight I was so poorly but was reassured my baby would be getting everything it needs from me. I felt different, carried differently and I was very surprised to find I was having another boy at my 20 week scan. That boy is now 17.

Honoraryuce · 11/03/2023 18:05

Yes both the same. Different early symptoms and morning sickness went on most of my second pregnancy whereas it stopped at end of first trimester first time.

BridieConvert · 11/03/2023 18:11

Yup very different pregnancies, different issues. Which made me convinced second was a boy - nope, another girl!

thismeansnothing · 11/03/2023 18:31

Yup. Very different.

My first, no morning sickness, no heartburn, craved anything salty (bacon, roast pork, salt and vinegar walkers extra crunchy which they don't make anymore 🤬), and ice cubes. Carried quite low.

Second, horrific morning sickness, no heartburn, the worst pelvic girdle pain, when I could eat it was anything sweet and sugary and carried quite high up. Kinda like I'd shoved a basketball up my top.

Both were girls.

trying29 · 11/03/2023 18:33

Both boys - completely different cravings/weight gain/carrying of pregnancy. Everyone was convinced second was a girl because it was so different

Smogtopia · 11/03/2023 18:44

Totally different - same sex

GlobetrottingPercy · 11/03/2023 18:47

Yes, me too. Both same sex but both pregnancies the complete opposite to each other. Every single thing is different this pregnancy!

Will never forget MIL saying ‘oh that’s a shame, I thought it must be a girl because you have been so different this time’ 🙄

WellTidy · 11/03/2023 18:52

Yes, I have two DSs. Pregnancy with Ds1 was awful - I had dreadful HG, odd work for six months, and was a lighter weight when I gave birth to him than when I conceived.
Ds2 was a breeze, not sick once and felt amazing all the way through, worked until 38 weeks.

Scottishgirl85 · 11/03/2023 18:54

I had 3 identical pregnancies and had girl, girl, boy. It really is no indication of gender :-)
