Not generally a household item - DS had a helium balloon someone gave him as a birthday present. He used to tuck it in beside him but it would get out. As it got older, it used to escape from the bedroom and we would meet it lurking about on the landing in the night 😵

A silicon pastry brush, but one where the handle came out and you could put the bristles on your finger. It was nicknamed brushie and went everywhere for a long time, including both bed and nursery. Apparently it was greatly admired by the other children to the extent that I was regularly asked where it had come from. It was a freebie that came from a magazine…
