Like...if he looks for milk soon? Because I always thought milk makes tummy bugs worse.

Usually he feeds a fair amount through the night but I don't want every feed to equal a vom!

He had all his food at nursery and dinner here then had a milk feed to sleep but has vommed it all up :(

Keep feeding was the advice I was given. Maybe cut dairy and soya out of your diet for a few days.
Hope he's ok soon

Yes, breastmilk is fine. He needs to stay hydrated.

If he searches for your milk then yes give him it. It is a source of fluid for babies so he may well need it. I hope he gets better soon

Breastfeeding tends to be better tolerated than cows milk. If he's not dehydrated, probably best to let him have the breast.

Tinkeytonkoldfruit · 06/03/2023 23:08

Yes absolutely keep breastfeeding, best thing for them when they're poorly.

YukoandHiro · 06/03/2023 23:08

Yes absolutely. Short regular feeds and sit them upright for s while after each one.
Breastmilk is even more isotonic than rehydration salts and is absorbed very rapidly so even if they keep vomiting the chances are you'll prevent bad dehydration.
Remember to look out for signs of dehydration: floppies, no tears when frying, dry nappy for 8 hours. A&E or walk in if that happens xxx

Doesn't matter if every feed leads to vomiting - some will still be absorbed. It's just a laundry issue!! Cover yourself and the cot in towels. Layer up towels and sheets so quick to strip off in the night.

EasterIssland · 06/03/2023 23:12

Yes. The milk will adapt to his virus and help him

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 06/03/2023 23:12

Ok thanks all. I will continue to breastfeed:)
Yeh we cosleep so that's one full set of laundry needing done. I have now covered the place in muslins and towels. Wish me luck!
