Cutting out sugar- advice? Any tips?

I’m a bridesmaid in 11 weeks and weighed myself last night- I’m 12kg heavier than my wedding day and officially in the ‘overweight’ BMI category. I feel sluggish and horrible and don’t fit in a lot of my old clothes.
I need to cut out sugar. I eat too much- entirely my own fault I buy it and binge. I know I’m addicted- I feel grumpy without a chocolate fix and lean on food when having a bad day or celebrating. I feel guilty afterwards but have no self control at the time.
Ive downloaded MyFitnessPal and I want to cut out refined sugar. I plan on 3 healthy meals a day- not going to cut carbs completely but reduce down. Daily exercise (already cycle and walk a lot). How much weight could I lose in 11 weeks? I’m hoping for 5kg.
Please motivate me healthy people!

@Willowtre1 good idea- I find it hard as so many diets are protein protein protein but I'm not a massive meat eater and don't like eggs or tofu so find it hard to get enough in!

Go cold turkey.

You'll have a rough time of it to begin with, but you'll feel so much better when that post sugar slump wears off you'll be super motivated to steer clear of it.

I'm almost ten weeks in to a diet where I've cut out almost all sugar and processed foods.

I've lost 21lbs so far and I feel so good.

I'm also intermittent fasting. Most days I do 16:8 but it's all had such a massive impact on my cravings that some days I go longer.

It was hard for the first few days but it's amazing how quickly you appreciate what genuine hunger feels like and it's much easier to resist than a craving!

One thing it's made me reflect on are all the little habits- finishing off the kids tea, the odd biscuit at work, the weekly brownie from the lady with the trolley, the hot chocolate during swimming lessons etc etc. No wonder the weight has crept on like it has! Trying to power through the headaches as I know it's sugar cravings!
