Who do you rely on for support or as a sounding board?

Just that really….

If you have something worrying you or are feeling low or stressed, have you got anyone who will support or help you or chat it through?

Or Is it better to suck it up and not mention it to friends, your partner etc because it can get a bit tedious and people have their own worries?

The boards here used to be really supportive but I feel there is less support and tolerance now and more disdain which is sad.

Myself. But I've been doing that since I was 6 years old. I've never let myself down!

Aye same here but it's tiring isn't it.

But how do you change yonks of conditioning?
Or in my case being abandoned by both parents (divorced),when I was 17 to flounder in the big wide world, with no support whatsoever. And also realising at the same time that mother may be a vet nurse but she knew fuck all about human health, during my childhood. So anything she did say was met with huge amounts of suspicion.

@Icelolly999 I thought you meant externally but I have a LOT going on inside my head nobody will ever know. My new therapist is going to have loads of fun with me from next week.

My husband.
My parents and my sister are useless, the funny thing is that they talk to me about their problems as I’m good at providing them support. But they don’t like/ can’t cope with the other way around.
My DD has additional needs so it’s pretty tough life. I’ve got one friend to chat with but she’s in the same boat so not much spare time and lots of issues with her DC. I do attend our parents group’s morning coffee occasionally for chat and moan but I can’t rely on it, just lucky if it’s possible once in a while.
