Healing burnout

As someone who tries to avoid sounding like a bit of a victim, it's been hard to fully give into feeling quite rundown this weekend. I have a sore throat, swollen glands and my limbs feel like I've had a full body workout. I enjoy my life, working full time in a management position and taking care of my toddler though I'm sure many will understand it can be a little exhausting.

I'm working from home for the next 2 days and then have 1 day off before I'm back to working in my building. I'd like to treat this as time to recharge and it sounds silly but I'm sort of unsure how you do this! Whenever I have free time, I tend to either

a. go all out on chores in an effort to clear my head (even when I'm working from home, I'll use my breaks just to pop the hoover round or do some ironing).

or

b. slob about all day on the sofa.

Neither makes me feel amazing. I guess I'm just wondering if you had an opportunity to be a bit easier on yourself for the next few days, how would you go about it? What kind of things can you do to take care of yourself better?

You sound like you have a physical illness (viral or some such) rather than burnout to be fair.
Having had burnout, I can honestly say, I couldn’t physically put one foot or one thought in front of the next. It took many many weeks to be able to function.

You know what though, you sound similar to me and I agree, it does nothing to make you feel any better.
Is this not what doing it all entails though? You just have to crack on and then take downtime however you need to take it, sofa slobbing, running the vacuum over, Netflix, the park with toddler.
Just do what you need to do to get by is my advice.

Half and half! Have a lie in, if you enjoy that, then tackle the essential stuff (laundry wash but no ironing..I never iron!) then have lunch and slob for the rest of the day :)

You sound like you're ill and you need to recover, nor give yourself another to-do list.

But if you want a list:
Sleep
Eat a nourishing breakfast
Listen to music that relaxes you
Walk in nature
Nap
Eat something nourishing
Have a bath
Nap
Light a scented candle, read something undemanding
Have some nice soup
Go to bed
