My DD is almost 5 and I would like her to join an after school/ weekend club or two and I just wonder if anyone has any ideas of clubs I could search for? The ones I have thought of so far are:
Martial Arts
Brownies/Squirels
Football
RugbyTots
Dance
Drama/ Theatre
Gymnastics

Is there any that I am missing? I would like her to be in a group so nothing solitary like music lessons. I know all areas have different activities but I'm just drawing a blank with Google searches so any ideas would be very welcome.

I think Rugby Tots are literally for toddlers? I also wouldn’t let it put you off if she’s really interested but I don’t also know any girls that do it. My 2YO DS does it but all the boys move on at 5 to play for the under 6s side of a proper rugby club.

My DD does tennis, drama, ballet, street dance, and more ballet. All are through school or linked (e.g. school ballet teachers Saturday club). Ask yours what she likes!

@Dodgeitornot - that's sounds far too much for me. I don't think I heard of this from any groups in our area. Wow.

Most rugby clubs play mixed to U11. The RFU then says they have to play separately ( which I think is right). So your dd could just join the U6 of a rugby club from September, assuming she’s 6 next school year. It tends to be v affordable. My dd is now U11 and has played since she was 4. She is now one of 2 girls in her squad and often the only one on the pitch at matches so it’s not for everyone. At the same time it’s definitely not a sport that you need to take up early- a lot of the best U12 players in my son’s very strong squad started in U9/U10. Grassroots girls football is much more developed than grassroots women’s rugby so if you’re agnostic. I’d probably do football. It’s going to be a struggle to bridge DD to adult rugby now as there just aren’t the nunbers

@reluctantbrit Interesting. Do they do the scout promise at the end of each session? This was ran by quite elderly ladies and they were very traditional.

Whatever your DD wants to do, but always swimmimg as it's a vital life skill.

My DD (9) has tried all sorts, but consistently stuck with rainbows/brownies, swimming and horseriding,

My daughters both do cheerleading which they love as combines dance and gymnastics as well as stunting. It does get quite expensive when they compete though.

I don't think my daughter ever said her promise outside the actual investure.

They closed the Scout meetings with the salute and also when they returned from a day out or camp.

She is now an Explorer and while the leader is strict on wearing the uniform or at least the scarf and woggle when they are doing something where uniform is not required, I don't think I saw them ever doing even the salute.
