If you have a utility room, what's its best feature?

We have a utility room but it's in the same condition it was when we bought the house (poor and unloved) so this year is the year it gets its face-lift.

What is the best thing about your utility?

Ours currently houses:-
The fridge freezer
The washing machine
The tumble dryer
The boiler
The cat litter trays
A bin
A small amount of storage for loo rolls etc.

It's also the room which we access the outside space (can't really call it a garden!!) and the bathroom. So it's used as a walk through room a lot.

I want to get this right as I don't want to have to begrudge missing something.

We used to live in a house with the best utility room in that it had a proper sideboard for folding and a sink and we didn’t have to have a stupid condenser dryer!! (HATE IT!!)

We have one too in our utility. It’s fabulous. The boiler is also in there, so things dry really quickly.

We also have washing machine, fridge freezer and extra freezer and a wine fridge. Our cats bed and litter tray are in there. We have lots of coat racks and space for boots - we have horses so all our dirty coats live in there, while “normal” coats go on the hooks in the front porch. We were meant to have a loo, but filled the space with fridges!

They are really useful! I also chuck school bags and some sports equipment in there. Helps keep everything a little tidier and as the kids have a locker each they know where to put/find stuff.

I got mine from Maison Du Monde. They do a few different shades if you don’t fancy the full on industrial look. And I’m sure other places do them too.

Hands down it’s the sink!!

Cleaning dog bowls, dirty boots, soaking laundry, emptying mop bucket. Don’t know how I lived before it lol

I have a shower in mine. It was great when kids were little. I used to sit in there ( it was not on ) and read to get 5 minutes peace. They never ever discovered my hiding space 🤣
