Hotel recommendations in Cotswolds or Malvern Hills

I am trying to book three days away for my husbands big birthday. I was wondering about this neck of the woods because we haven't explored it much. I have not been to Oxford properly so that also might be an idea. Then there is Blenheim and loads of other things to do. Has anyone got any recommendations for quite special hotels with decent food (not bothered by tasting menus but don't want bog standard pub grub). I can't afford stupid amounts but could run to around £200 ish per night, poss a bit more as I've been ill, had a horrible situation at work and husband has been utterly wonderful. We are parking the dog elsewhere so I thought it would be a good opportunity to do things like country houses, cathedrals, etc that we can't do with the dog in tow.

Many thanks

I like Dormy House. The walks from there are good including Broadway Tower and down into either Broadway or my preference of Chipping Camden.

Dumbleton Hall is between the Cotswolds and The Malverns, but I have not stayed there. There are lots of other places to see and stay. During the day a good pub or tea room will help dilute costs. If the weather is warm a blanket and a picnic is also delightful. Most hotels will pack you one up and just take an empty rucksack.

The Bear at Woodstock is nice and if you want March, they have a 30% off deal. Woodstock is the village right by Blenheim and easy access to Oxford - if you didn't want to drive into town, I believe there is a bus service (there used to be - not certain about now).

The Wheatsheaf at Coombe Hay outside Bath is a very nice pub with rooms - quite low key but lovely food.

We also stayed in The White Hart in Moreton in Marsh, which was a great village and a good centre for driving around.

The Rectory in Crudwell is lovely. Southern end of the Cotswolds so not ideal for Blenheim, but close to Cirencester and Tetbury

Try the Bell in Stow. Thinking of doing similar for my DH's big birthday.

I’d really recommend Double Red Duke

@FeinCuroxiVooz Interesting. I have been looking at that one and it does sound nice.

Does anyone know anything about the Four at Stow.

Not heard of that one, but there is this one:

Wishbone

And just round the corner for a breakfast before a walk:

The Kettle Sings

Nearby at British Camp you also have

Malvern Hills Hotel

I have used the last two many times before and they have wonderful views and walks.

Busy by the road. There will be better places. I used to rent a house at the top of the hill just as you go into Stow. Places in the town would be better I would have thought.
