Did anyone else attend a safety day/event as a child?

In primary school we attended a safety event via the school. They had different stations set up around the building, inside and outside. For the first part we were told to walk along a path and not look back and a man came running screaming and grabbed one of us.

Others included electricity substations, fires, a bus, a room that was set up like a club or disco with food and tictacs in bowls, that we weren't supposed to eat, but many did. I think there was another station or two but I can't remember what they were.

Did anyone else attend anything like this?

We had junior good citizen day I think. I mostly remember my group all happily going off with the stranger to their car while I ran after them shouting "nooooo! It's a straaaaangeeerr!!!"

Yes! And there was a room that caught on fire, a road we had to cross safely.

I've just looked it up and it was Lifeskills safety alliance centre in Bristol we went to in primary school

I remember going to Crucial Crew in the mid 90's as PP has said.

They told us we were learning about mobile phones and then told us to get one from a separate room. They locked us in the room in the dark and said we were kidnapped. A 'policeman' then knocked at the door and when no one shouted they told us off and told us about the Moors murderers. It was bloody terrifying and haunts me to this day. But in all fairness I don't think I'd ever walk into a building to get a mobile phone again after that experience.
