Don't know if there is a thread about this already.

So what are peoples thoughts. Did he, didn't he?

I personally think he did but covered his tracks well enough to cause reasonable doubt to the jury.

I think either he did, or Buster did.... they definitely think they're above the law

And trying to pin the boat crash on Connor, despite EVERYONE saying Paul was driving - corrupt to their very core

Springawakenings · 03/03/2023 07:24

Just seen that he's been convinced as guilty on both charges of murder and will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The whole family were a ticking time bomb. So many awful things attached to the family.
I also agree that I think Buster knew so much more and potentially was in on it too. He seems so cold and unemotional.

The jury was only out for 3 hours. I don't think that there was any reasonable doubt !

growgrowinggrown · 03/03/2023 07:51

I do think he did it given the blood spatter and gun residue found on him, but can't for the life of me figure out a motive.

WeAreTheHeroes · 03/03/2023 07:54

Money is the motive. His wife had property in her name and his youngest son was a liability.

I’m no fan of any of them but people really should know by now that people have different reactions to trauma. You can’t tell whether someone is guilty or not by their emotional response.

Springawakenings · 03/03/2023 08:00

I think most people are baffled by the motive. Yes money could be the motive but I think people find it hard to fathom that you would kill your son and wife because of money.

Yes, I am with you. I don’t think the prosecution’s case for motive was very compelling, but the evidence seems pretty clear that it was him. I wonder if maybe Maggie and Paul had some dirt on him that we have yet to find out, and they threatened to expose him…

Either way, even if he wasn’t guilty of this particular crime, he’s still a worm of a man who is implicated in enough other mysterious deaths that it’s unlikely he actually is innocent of a murder charge, even if it wasn’t Maggie and Paul. I definitely think it’s possible he killed their housekeeper for the insurance payout, for starters, and I think he also probably at a minimum knows who killed that boy in 2015.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/03/2023 08:35

He been found guilty.

Zeroplucks202 · 03/03/2023 08:49

Guilty as charged. He lied about being down at the kennels. Lots of triggers: exposed as a thief, loss of standing, boat accident, father dying. There's an outside chance he ordered some outside person to do it but not much evidence of that and he's still responsible overall.

It was a long slow car crash and he's evil frankly. He must be to stand up in the court and protest his innocence and bring further pain to his extended family and all of the colleagues and friends he had stolen from and betrayed.

You could see how controlling and evasive he was in the way he answered the questions. He's probably a psychopath. And all of the lip wetting and smacking was repulsive.
