Positive feedback for a very weak colleague

I have twenty four hours to feed back one thing positive about a very weak colleague.

They are not a direct report.

They have been here over a year and we have already tried to help them improve. There has been no improvement.

They are costing time and money. They know they shouldn't be here so they're walking around like moaning myrtle.

I have a ways of working meeting with them next week and I will be going through the same thing we went through twice over the past year. I'm not hiding anything.

The company culture is pretty constructive. We are doing our best to support, but really they would be much better off elsewhere. I don't really know why they are not being managed out.

Anyhow. I need some positive points for the official feedback document. I'm really struggling and so are the rest of the team. I don't want to crush the poor person.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thankyou!

Is there nothing they contribute (taking notes/feedback in meetings etc)?

Why arent they on a PIP?

Are they always on time?

Is there literally nothing negative about them? Even if it is damning with faint praise. And actually, a white lie about attitude wouldn't be a problem - who's to judge what someone else means by "enthusiastic" or "engaged"?

They are always pleasant to talk to/ask how I am/smile at people/friendly
They put a lot of effort in/try very hard
They know how to use a computer/Microsoft word
They reply quickly to emails
They are honest when they don't know something, instead of pretending they do
They always offer to get the coffees
They are very smartly presented
They make good notes
They are a team player
Or, they are independent
Or, they try to work independently and know when to ask for help
Or, they accept help and support when offered
They are enthusiastic and interested
They don't cause problems for others
They ask relevant questions
They're not afraid to speak up about problems

Thanks all - really appreciate it.

Just heard they're moving to another dept, so looks like their line manager was being more proactive than I thought

What about "has been receptive to receiving feedback".
It sort of doesn't mean anything, but sounds like a positive!
