@squashyhat try and get as many crossovers and esp 6x6 as you can but not to the detriment of using up letters if that makes sense? Also try and think of what letters are less likely to come up - eg usually less J, Z etc but not always annoyingly

Thanks - I was trying to get a 6 on the across and ended up short of an s to make the 6 down which had more multipliers.

A mix of clearing as you and planning ahead for certain words, which is a gamble because you might not get the letters you need but trying to get as many 6x6 crosswords as possible gets you a lot of points. I usually start a 6x6 with as many multipliers as possible, and then do some 3x3 or 3x4 words in an empty space until I've finished the 6x6, then see what other big crosses I can do with the rest of the multipliers

@squashyhat I actually have screenshot from yesterday here but pretty much what @Natsku says. Also on the top right of the grid you can click and see if the word you want to use is acceptable. For example Annum isn't which really annoys me!

sexist hasmat is an excellent crossword, meaning poorly fitting hazmat clothing for women
