Positive thinking

I am sure someone here will be able to recommend a book, there are so many out there.
I seem to get in a negative mindset and would really like to get out of it, not necessarily about myself but look for the worst in a situation and can be quite negative about people/situations.
Would really like to learn how to change my mindset and generally be a nicer person.
If anyone can recommend a good help book they've read or any other tips that would be great.

Not a book but a very simple positive psychology intervention. Every evening write down 3 things that went well that day (or hell one thing that went well!) and then why it went well. I think it’s the why it went well that really helps.

Ok, thank you. That sounds like a good idea and not something I have thought of. Will definitely give that a go, thanks

There's a book called Learned Optimism: How to change your mind and your life by Martin Seligman, which I think is brilliant. It's not one of those books that is full of upbeat mantras - it details the research around optimism and pessimism and the proven interventions you can make to improve your outlook.

Catherine Gray- The Unexpected Joy of the Ordinary. I've recommended it to lots of people. I thought it was brilliant 🤩
