I used to have a friend when we both loved in our country of origin, now she lives in Canada, I live in the UK. Ever since she left our country she's become very cold nd unapproachable but we have kept in touch via FB. Just the odd message here and there, her being very 'official', nothing like we were before. She got married, had 2 kids so life was busy for her.
So we haven't really spoken for over 10 years, a couple of weeks ago she sent me a message: hey, long time no hear! How are you, how is life? Etc. I was initially happy, I have reconnected with old friends before and kept in touch ever since, so I was pleased. The next message she sent was to introduce me to some overpriced hair products (which were about £35-40 a bottle) and how amazing they are and what a great business I can develop if I join her network. And she's be so happy to meet me next time we are both in our country.
I felt deflated and I thanked her and I said I'll check out the links she sent. I never came back to her and a few weeks later she unfriended and blocked me on FB :).
I have another one on my back now with a different proposition 😀
