Looking for inspiration for a birthday present for 16 year old girl. I’m hopelessly out of touch. Anything been a big hit with your teen girls?

16 yr old DDs fave Christmas presents were big hooded wearable blanket thingy (like Oodie but not) and Jellycat toys!

2PintsOfCidernaBagofCrisps · 23/02/2023 19:42

My daughter got a record player and vinyls for Christmas. She is obsessed.

A light up mirror from Amazon went down well, too - This one

Makeup brushes
Converse trainers
Oodie
My daughter likes prints/ posters from Etsy of her favourite bands/music artists. There's some great art out there and prints are pretty cheap if you search within the UK.

Lego flowers
Gift vouchers to Starbucks/bubble tea places
Posters
Peg shaped string lights to hang photos off

Jewellery, dd loves pretty rings and necklaces.

I've bought her a few 3d kits and she's enjoyed making them.

RachelGreensHair · 23/02/2023 22:44

If she's arty, DD got a jewellery making kit and loved it, it was a really nice grown up version and she made earrings and bracelets. She doesn't have ears pierced and doesn't want them pierced, but enjoyed making the earrings for friends and family :)

BeeBB · 23/02/2023 22:45

Mainly

chocolate (Lindt or Galaxy)

Magnifying mirror from Boots

Cactus plants

Stationary

Occasionally nice PJ’s or a hoodie but its very rare anything I choose meets with her approval.

Undergroundovergroundwomblingfree · 23/02/2023 22:45

Mine absolutely love the bracelets from www.lifecharms.co.uk

Bikechic · 23/02/2023 22:49

Take her to a show you would both enjoy.

Thatcatisdrivingmenuts · 23/02/2023 22:58

A Polaroid camera.

A fleece lined long hoodie.

Endless trainers.

Anon132 · 23/02/2023 23:26

A homemade pamper box of things like face masks, exfoliaters, face cream, fake tan, body spray and deodorants, nose strips, nails vanishes etc. Can be personalised to her taste. Always a winner in my experience

Karwomannghia · 23/02/2023 23:31

Velvetiser, oodie, weighted blanket, salt lamp, perfume, jewellery, doc martens, converse, backpack, theatre/concert tickets.

curtaintwitcher23 · 23/02/2023 23:41

Jellycat amusables and silly things from Urban Outfitters.

NoDairyNoProblem · 23/02/2023 23:43

DD was pleased with the Mac must haves set from Next we got her at Christmas. It seemed good value too at £45.

NoDairyNoProblem · 23/02/2023 23:48

Other popular gifts include concert tickets, clothing, Nike Blazers, Primark Oodie, manicure voucher, leather jacket.

SarahDippity · 23/02/2023 23:49

Experiences.

my two dds prefer to buy their own face-masks, makeup etc

for my girls, recent successes have been:
flight simulation
Theatre trip (musical/show) with parent
ski lesson
karaoke session with friends
fsmily outing to escape room

ie - stuff they can’t buy or organise themselves, but that shows you get them

HollyBerri · 24/02/2023 04:28

Bought mine a Pandora ring for her birthday. Other things she liked for Xmas & bday - Mac make up, gel nail kit - make up brushes and a print of one of her favourite bands album covers.

reluctantbrit · 24/02/2023 07:44

Odie
Blankets and pillows
oversized hoody
Doc Marten style boots
Books and more books
jewellery but her taste is very specific, I get exact links from her
tote bag

Chocolateismyfavourite · 24/02/2023 07:48

Anything to do with crochet - she loves it.
Oodie.
New bed linen and cushions.
Spa day.
Afternoon tea for two voucher ( she's obsessed with afternoon tea and loves it too)

Dogsgottabone · 24/02/2023 07:50

Chloe perfume

Coco madamoiselle perfume

Both big hits in our house.

And as many book tokens as she can get.

MadgeMarple · 24/02/2023 07:52

A mini printer that connects to her phone so she can print out tiny, Polaroid like pics. She also likes the cameras that contain film that you send off in boots to get developed.

Vanillalime · 24/02/2023 07:55

Lots of good ideas here. I would go for something that makes her feel grown up, like a Mac lipstick or an eyeshadow palette, maybe something like this from boots?

www.boots.com/morphe-35t-sweetest-tea-artistry-palette-10306474

Maybe one of those hairdryer/brushes like this www.bmstores.co.uk/products/elle-magic-hot-air-styler-364848

Or a T-shirt of her favourite band? Nice perfume? Also like the salt lamp idea someone mentioned above.

amaretti1999 · 24/02/2023 07:56

Anything Charlotte Tilbury make up wise.

Flumo · 24/02/2023 08:00

I got a Pandora bracelet for my 16th birthday and still add to it at 28 😀

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/02/2023 08:01

Shopping for my 16yo isn't that different to shopping for myself. She likes jewellery, nice smellies, make up, clothes, perfume, nice undies.

WordtoYoMumma · 24/02/2023 08:02

Teen daughter's fave Xmas gift was strip LED lights for her room
