Working hours

Would you work the hours of 8am - 5:30pm?

This involves a 20-30 minute commute via car daily.

The annual leave package is 20 days plus BH but 3 days of your annual leave are to be used between the Christmas period.

I just find these hours so unsocial, especially if you have a child.

I swear there was the exact same thread on here the other day.

They are normal hours
The commute is reasonable too

maddy68 · 23/02/2023 17:33

Holidays are crap otherwise fine

Usernamebuffering · 23/02/2023 17:45

No.

Even at double the salary I'd not work those hours

itsthefinalcountdown1 · 23/02/2023 18:55

I work pretty much this but just 4 days a week.
Those hours 5 days on that wage and holidays is naff.

So I shouldn't take the job if I'm offered then?

No one can tell you what to do, no one knows your circumstances.

To create a post on here shows you’re already thinking right. Long hours, and seriously crap annual leave. Its a big no for me

Threee · 25/02/2023 05:00

What else is available job wise? Pay wise?

Do you want the job? Do you love the job (I'd need to, for those hours and that annual leave)? Do you need the job (are you currently employed)?

What will you do for childcare with low/no flexibility offered and low holiday (remember it'll be trickier to cover school holidays, would that be an issue)?

In your shoes I wouldn't take the job and I'd tell them why. Hours are too high, annual leave is too low and the salary (potentially - depending on role) doesn't compensate. Best case, they negotiate. Worst case, the process is terminated (silver lining, you dodge a rubbish employer) and they might consider your feedback during future recruitment.
