WWYD - Last Mothers' Day

How would you spend your last Mothers' Day with your mum?

We've had a rocky relationship but have, hopefully, got over that. I have forgiven various behaviours and want to concentrate on loving my mum and making her last MD special.

She has 'a few' months left, is well enough to go short walks, a lunch etc.

Any ideas please?

What would you and she enjoy to do together?

We (unknowingly) spent our last Mother's Day with our mum together, doing nothing special, just lunch with all the immediate family and I would change it for a thing.

She died 2 days later.

Just spending time together will be perfect.

Or most enjoy if things are still tricky.

This is difficult to say as we've had a difficult few years and haven't done much together at all.

Years ago, we used to go shopping together but that's not really possible now (or appropriate - she has no need to buy anything new and doesn't want to anyway).

We'd occasionally go for lunch but she doesn't have much of an appetite now. Same for cocktails.

My mil had little appetite when she was ill but enjoyed afternoon tea- lots of little bits were easier to face than a big plate. Would that be an idea?

Afternoon tea would be nice

Is there a place or holiday that was special to the two of you, or a good childhood memory? Could you recreate elements of that? For example my mother loves Italy so one year I bought her a cd of an Italian singer she likes, some big Sicilian lemons with the leaves on, some good olive oil, and I made an album of a particular holiday we had both enjoyed.

Afternoon Tea might be a good idea, with little tiny sandwiches and cakes, thanks
