Can I become a primary teacher with msc but no degree?

I have a masters degree but no bachelors degree, is it possible to become a primary teacher in this circumstance? I have qualifications equivalent to a degree but not an actual bachelors degree. Everywhere I look seems to want this.

What route are you planning to go with. If it is with a PGCE then you will have to look at the university and how many UCAS points you need and check whether you have enough.

If you are planning to do QTS only, you may need bachelors degree or an equivalent, do you have a level 6 nvq or diploma? Also work experience maybe enough if you already work as TA, it would depend on the provider you are going with. You may have to call them and find out.

Was it a 1 year or 4 year masters?
DH never graduated with a BSC, but got an MSC after 4 years study. It's caused a few detailed conversations, but has always been ok.
If a 1 year masters, did you need to prove previous qualifications equivalent to a degree to get onto the course? I think you'll need to talk to the course provider, but it's worth a go.

Thanks I haven't looked into what route yet because I imagine it won't be possible. I have a level 7 qualification that allowed me to do a one year masters. Sounds like I may have to have a degree which is a shame because I can't really justify the expense of a degree as it would be a career change from a higher paid job.

I wonder if you're a chartered accountant? My level 7 CIMA would allow me to do a 1 year masters.
I believe you'd need a bachelors to go into teaching though.

I was a teacher many years - retired now . I'm pretty sure you will be able to train as a primary teacher with your qualifications. It's all done on points system now . If you get in touch with any training providers I'm sure they will go through it with you they are very keen for new entrants ! Hope it goes well !

Private schools don't require teaching qualifications.

Worth enquiring with Teach First.

I was accepted onto a PGCE with an MBA and no undergraduate degree. It wasn’t a given, but I talked them through other non-qualification study I had done, and they let me in. This was 2010, but can’t imagine they’re tighter now than then given shortages and relaxation on things like the maths and English skills tests.

Some providers would take you I think but not all - at least met someone who was applying to be a secondary art teacher with masters only and that is what they found

Private schools don't require teaching qualifications.

Absolutely shocking & not the case in Scotland.
