I have two interviews... do I tell the first?

Anticipating a dilemma that possibly won't even happen yet.

BUT I have two interviews - one today, one tomorrow. Same job, different places. Not high-up jobs, technically unskilled labour and a sought after sector (so would have plenty of options of candidates).

The one tomorrow is my preferred place from what I know so far.
My dilemma is what if the one from today offers me the job (I imagine I have a bit more experience than others), but I want to hold out to see what the second says? What's the protocol there?
Because I feel if I be honest that because it's unskilled and they've had many applicants, they'll just pass it on and then I might not get the one tomorrow?

Obviously they might not even tell me before tomorrow if I've got the job, or I might not even get it. I'm just forward thinking incase.

If they do offer it to you say great thanks, then if you also get offered the second one call the first one back and say sorry you've changed your mind. It happens all the time - actually a lot of people don't even bother telling the company they dont want the job anymore and they only know when the person doesn't turn up for their first day!

Particularly as it sounds like it's only going to be a day or two between the two so it's not as if first job will have to start again from the beginning after a few weeks/months.

Good luck!

You're not committed to anything until you sign a contract, and I would keep all my options open until then (i.e.say yes to everything and then decide).

It's completely fair to act in 100% your own interests here. You can be sure that's what the employers will do.

Exactly this. Most people doing interviews and looking for jobs have multiple on the go, they expect this. Do both interviews, say nothing and wait for the offers. You don't need to respond straight away with a 'yes'.

Even if they make you a verbal offer at interview, its not legally binding until they put it formally in writing with all T and C, and you sign acceptance.

So, if they offer, say yes , thanks, I look forward to receiving your full formal offer.
By the time they arrive from 1, you'll have had interview 2, at which you say the same

Then with two written offers you can compare the plus and minuses, take your pick, politely decline the other.

It is usual when interviewing to know your candidates will have other interviews lined up; so I would be straightforward when asked about availability, usually at the end and say you are working to a month's notice (eg) or are available immediately and you have another xx number of interviews lined up this week/next week.

Do your interviews, and wait and see what offers come out of them.

Good Luck!

Ask the package if they make the offer. Then barter.
