I’m currently out of work I left my job end of last year due to illness and the pain it was causing me I have endometriosis fibromyalgia bad fatigue constantly but I try and manage. I’m on a lot of meds and treatment but nothing is working really for my endometriosis. 2-3 days a month I’m bed bound in pains or in a and e. I want to go back to work and have been looking for a job that I will be able to do. I’ve applied for pip to help and mean that I can go part time for the time being I got denied. I then applied for jobseekers and that’s currently going through. I really don’t no what to do as I’m desperate for a job and missing work massively I’m also worried that if I’m off randomly 2-3 days a month I’ll end up getting let go. I have some savings but it’s for private surgery pelvic floor therapy and other treatments to help. I can’t claim certain benefits because of this. At the moment im
using these savings to live.

What work did you do previously?

Funnybunny12 · 20/02/2023 20:55

I was a manager in my last job but was a public facing role 95 percent of the time. I’ve done retail before but not being able to sit down when needed was awful. When I was a lot younger I did call centre job luckily people calling us for help but never again.
I lost both call centre and retail job due to being ill

Have you got admin experience? Lots can be done from home or hybrid, it can take a while to get in but look at civil service and similar non-governmntal organisations.

Have you seen if you can apply for esa instead?

Funnybunny12 · 20/02/2023 22:19

I have some admin experience but was really hoping for a job that would get me out the house as I don’t have any energy to do much else and can feel trapped in my flat otherwise. I’m looking at esa new style I’ve got a meeting tomorrow to discuss my options.

Did you appeal your PIP decision? 70% of people who appeal are awarded the benefit at tribunal.

Babyroobs · 20/02/2023 22:48

I would say new style ESA is the way to go if savings rule you out of claiming Universal credit. Once assessed you can still claim ESA and do some kind of permitted part time work.

Also try for PIP again if you are out of the time frame for an MR. Lots of people get turned down first time.
