Go up and down the stairs after 10pm 😂

Takemehomeagain · 19/02/2023 23:37

Have a phone in the bedroom and lie in bed past 10 am 😄

Startuplife · 19/02/2023 23:38

Have a shower late at night
Sit in bed or on the sofa relaxing without being accused of being lazy

Dartmoorcheffy · 19/02/2023 23:39

Keep warm. Not have ice on the inside of the window. Have a huge choice of food in the fridge and cupboards. Unlimited hot water.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 19/02/2023 23:46

Feel safe.

Groutyonehereagain · 19/02/2023 23:48

Use a dishwasher. 😀

timetogetlost · 19/02/2023 23:49

Be on my own.

zibbifydoo · 20/02/2023 00:01

Have a shower or bath whatever time I feel like, likewise with cooking.
Not have to whisper and keep quiet after 8 o clock as my father had gone to bed and we were frightened of waking him up.
Have friends over and not worry about the consequences.
Relax- properly relax rather than being on guard constantly

Abcdefu · 20/02/2023 00:04

Put my pyjamas on at 5pm

newtb · 20/02/2023 00:18

Drive to Bordeaux in 2 hours
Speak French to people
Drive on the right

Wilkolampshade · 20/02/2023 07:14

Know that no one is going to hit me, throw things or scream expletives or express 'life ruining' disappointment in me.
On a more cheerful note, I get to choose what everything looks like. 😊

watchfulwishes · 20/02/2023 07:19

-Shower rather than bath
-Watch TV
-Eat whenever/whatever I want without discussing whether it would ruin my tea

For those with very bad memories: Flowers

Mindymomo · 20/02/2023 07:20

Put the heating on and use a phone. We never had either until I met my then boyfriend who was a plumber and installed central heating for us, when I was 19 (late 1970’s) Phone was installed by my brother paying after I had moved out. Although we were the first on our road to have an automatic washing machine as my Mum worked in an electrical shop.

LT2 · 20/02/2023 07:23

Use a dishwasher.
See out in the garden when in the lounge.
See out the front of the house when in the kitchen.

I was going to say 'France outside the door'.

We're also 2 hours from Bordeaux Grin

Wfhandbored · 20/02/2023 07:24

Be myself

50change · 20/02/2023 07:26

We have 3 bathrooms and four toilets (downstairs WC) in our current home so we never have to wait for the loo! As soon as the kids are settled in Uni we will be downsizing as the promise my husband made to me when we bought this house years ago(yes dear I will help with cleaning all the bathrooms and toilets) is sketchy at best.

3LittleFishes · 20/02/2023 07:47

Shower daily rather than a weekly bath.
Wear clean clothes.
Care about my appearance.
Go out and see friends.
Have fun!

fussychica · 20/02/2023 09:05

Not have to go outside to the loo.
Have a shower and access to unlimited hot water
Be warm without having to sit in front of the coal fire
Not have to put money in the meter
Put food in a fridge
Dozens of entertainment related things like watch more than two channels and in colour, internet etc
Not have to go to a phone box to make a call.

God so many things. Laze around in PJ’s all day if I want to. Never allowed as a kid, even when ill if you were well enough to get up you were well enough to be dressed. Use the living room as I like, not just only when I sit “quietly” watching TV. Do my dishes (or any chores really) when I decide I want to do them. Not have to wear slippers unless I actually want to. Help myself to food and drinks. Eat when hungry instead of regimented meal times and have enough to eat. Have friends visit me. Being able to stay in and not be chucked out because the sun is shining! Being able to have cats. Get up and go to bed when I want. Wear what I want. I genuinely could be here all day listing things!

My childhood was utterly miserable and my house (can’t even call it a home) was run like a military camp. Add on to that we were very poor and my parents weren’t the best. My DC are adults now but I brought them up in a very relaxed way. I totally rebelled against my upbringing.

Xiaoxiong · 20/02/2023 09:46

A bed I don't have to roll up and put in the closet!

Zipps · 20/02/2023 09:59

Wear my own clothes - no hand me downs.
Be warm
Put the dishwasher on

BeachBlondey · 20/02/2023 10:02

Choose between 3 toilets.

Sleep in one of two spare rooms, if DH has a cold.

Go to the loo downstairs.

Stare at the sea through my windows.

Have a steam.

skippy67 · 20/02/2023 10:10

Walk up to my own front door from street level.
Access my own garden.
Have a dishwasher.

ThePollutedShadesOfPemberley · 20/02/2023 10:35

Be warm.
