8mo not drinking bottles

I have 8 month old DD, doing really well weaning onto purees/finger foods 3 times a day.

We dropped one of her bottles, so now is supposed to have 6oz 4 times a day, except she's really not interested in them anymore. It's a real headache trying to make her drink them and while she's better with her morning and night one, sometimes she's only drinking 2oz at the 2 day time ones.

Is it too early to drop another?! I'm worried because everyone says milk is the main source of food until they're 1. But her weight is tracking well, she's 70th centile. We don't see her pediatrician for another 6 weeks so just wanted previous experiences please.

I think it would depend on how nutritious the solid food is. Is she having plenty of protein and fat in the form of fish, eggs, meat and cheese regularly? Could you include some of her formula in her breakfast by mixing it with oats?

My DD dropped feeds really quickly when she started weaning, by 9 months she was only having 8oz morning and bedtime, and probably only drinking 6oz of each. We just made sure she had milk in cereal, yoghurts, cheese etc

I literally could have written this post as we are going through the exact same thing!

Our baby is also 8 months, on 4 feeds a day and the middle 2 are such a struggle. He probably now takes somewhere between 16 - 20 ounces a day (20 is now a good day). He is also doing really well on weaning. He loves his food. I raised this at my last doctor's appointment and they didn't seem too concerned (as he is still gaining weight well) I will see the dietician in 2 weeks so will raise it again. I'm trying to get him to take as much milk as possible in his foods - cereal, with banana, in yogurt etc and also plenty of cheese and yogurt etc

It's stressful though!

By 8mo DD was a menace with bf from 8mo and was on solids with a bf morning and evening. Water in between and some cows milk. She's now 13, ridiculously tall strong and fit.

I'm assuming your Dad will be fine however if you are in the UK and seeing a paediatrician then there is clearly something else going on so advice from parents of typically developing, well babies may not be helpful.

I'm in the US, pediatrician is just normal here every 2-3 months. She's a healthy baby other than the recent bottle refusal!

Thank you all.
