DH and I are taking our DC abroad for the first time later this year, they'll be 3.3 and 17 months. Just thinking about logistics and how to make getting around as easy as possible.

Would you recommend a double buggy, 2 single buggies, something else? Which buggies would you recommend? Oldest DC is already over 15kg.

There are baby equipment hire places there but we need them for the airports both sides (very early flight out) and we're getting the train from the airport to our accommodation.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It is not small to pack down but the out n about 360 nipper double would be good when you're actually using it.

One light buggy and a decent sling. Make sure the buggy works for either of them so that when older one walks younger can use and then when both tired move younger to sling. 2 buggies or a double is more hassle than it's worth when they are both able to be carried.

Where are you going? Will there be cobbled streets or lots of steps? I didn't use my buggy with DD in Hong Kong as there were steps everywhere.

Actually yea I agree it really depends on where you're going as many countries don't really use buggies much. And also what you're planning on doing when you're there

What luggage will you have? I think one parent with a double buggy and another with the suitcases will probably be easier at the airport.

Or possibly your youngest in a sling and your eldest walking/riding one of those wheels things?

We got a Trunki second hand for out newly turned 3 yo. Thinking that if we hated it then we hadn't wasted much money. He absolutely loved it and we have used it successfully for 2 trips. I keep the pull handle attached for getting through the airport then find a quiet area to let him ride about freely to tire him out before boarding.
We have a Pockit+ All Terrain buggy that folds tiny and can be taken on board plane. My 3 yo still fits in it and my 1yo too. We have had it for 2 and a half years and love it.

Get a light second hand pushchair that can take a buggy board (Bugaboo Bee for example). Unless you're planning to sight see and do lots of walking, your eldest should be walking anyway so you could clip the buggy board on and off as needed during your holiday. For the airport, they can be contained on the buggy board and in the pushchair easily which you usually just hand over at the gate.

Reins, maybe the ones attached to a little rucksack, so they can’t run off in the airport.

Thanks all. We're going to Spain, mostly flat terrain but we will be doing a lot of walking. Eldest DC is far too heavy to carry (so is our youngest for any length of time) so I want something for when his legs inevitably get tired. We have a buggy board with a seat so could take that.

We'll have a large suitcase, a small suitcase and 2 backpacks so pretty ladden with luggage. Just thinking about when we're out for long periods, it'd be handy for them both to be able to nap in a buggy if they need/want to. Probably not practical though?!

I'm maybe overthinking it. It'll be our first foreign holiday as a family of 4 and just want it to be as stress-free as possible.

Any other tips/advice from those who have been there, done that would be gratefully received.
