And do you actually use it or have you lost interest already?

Im still looking at them 🫣🫣 and I’m still undecided….

I love my airfryer. I got a new one (Cosori) a few weeks ago, and it's great. It's much quieter than my old Nina airfryer, so you can't really notice when it's running.

You can roast a whole chicken in it, make bread, pizza, calzone, and it has a fish preset that cooks salmon fillets to perfection. I also use it for reheating pizza slices, cooking bacon, roasting vegetables, baking potatoes, making cheese toasties, and for baking individual pies/pasties.

My colleague brought a 15 in one Ninja thing. She unpacked it and decided it looks to complicated and hasn't used it yet!

I got the cheap one from Costco about ten months ago and have barely used my oven since. Definitely worth it

Toddlerteaplease · 17/02/2023 20:02

I'd love o e. But I don't have the space or enough sockets for one.

My husband was given one a few weeks ago as an early birthday present by his parents. I'd never bought him one as I feel they're a bit faddy, and I stand by that now! I think it depends on your motivation for trying one, if it's saving money then arguably they use a lot less electricity than an oven. If it's time then in all honesty I wouldn't bother, you shave a few minutes here and there or sometimes it takes just as long. Ours is an entry level one so we struggle to fit enough for us and two kids in it, but then we didn't want to go for a larger, more expensive one if we didn't know whether we'd use it or not. Also, this is a personal thing but I don't like the 'fried' smell and although food tastes a bit different than oven-cooked food but apart from a couple of times I've not felt it tasted better per se.

My husband is obsessed with it mind, so I guess it's all an individual choice!

I love mine. No longer use my expensive range cooker.

autumnboys · 17/02/2023 20:05

We got one in August, it gets used most days. Excellent bit of kit.

I bought one a year ago because we were having the kitchen done.
It is used all the time.
I make loads in it.
Including Yorkshire pudding and crumble

How do the yorkshires come out?

anomaly23 · 17/02/2023 20:42

I've had one for 10 years, got it when ds was a baby.

Never been without one.

Felicity42 · 17/02/2023 20:47

How do you cook muffins in it? Do you put them in paper cases?
And crumble, what tin do you put in it or do you just take out the basket and bake in the base??

Nixer · 17/02/2023 20:56

We got one in October to try out because we were about to start renovating the kitchen. Since December we've had no main oven and probably won't til late spring. We use it at least 5 times a week and it's fine for just the two of us. I've managed to find a couple of small roasting tins and ceramic dishes that fit in it so can do pies and toad in the hole and roasts etc.

LindorDoubleChoc · 17/02/2023 21:02

I didn't get one for Christmas. I'd be fucking furious if that was my Christmas present, I would far rather have a £100 bottle of perfume.

But I did generally look t them as an option to buy for the family and decided against. They are just so FUGLY and take up so much counter space. Since we usually cook for 3 or 4 adults I couldn't see how it would work.

So glad I didn't fall for it!

grayhairdontcare · 17/02/2023 21:08

@Triffid1 any oven proof dish that fits the fryer.
@babasaclover they came out perfect

Triffid1 · 17/02/2023 21:24

@felicity: I use silicon cases for muffins. Going to try with Yorkshires next as dd loves Yorkshire puddings and it gives me a csrb option that isn't chips!

wilmer1974 · 17/02/2023 21:25

It's my fave thing in the kitchen. We use it every day. I feel lost without it when I visit my parents. I've offered to buy them one for me to use whilst I'm there, so they can see how quick and easy it is to use, but they have refused. I brought one to use in my sister's house while dog-sitting for four weeks. They now use it loads too.

Thank you all!!

Really interesting that only a few if you found it is a fad. This is my biggest worry - having some kitchen appliance that takes space but is never used….
