Do you pass down swimsuits- or is that as gross as underwear?

My dsis and I swap swimwear on holiday when we fancy a change or if someone has a nice bikini!
We rinse them out with a bit of travel wash, nowt gross in that is there (doubting myself now)😂

FinallyHere · 17/02/2023 17:42

I adored wearing anything my six years older DSis was prepared to hand down, I don't see anything 'gross' about any kind of clothing.

Not shoes, though as shoes adapt to the shape of the foot.

Benjispruce4 · 17/02/2023 17:44

@FinallyHere same!😀

Benjispruce4 · 17/02/2023 17:45

My DSis had bigger feet unfortunately and still does which is a shame before she has expensive taste in shoes.

I wouldn't give it a second thought not to . They go in a washing machine and come out clean 🤷‍♀️

Bathing suits yes, but not underwear

MumOf2workOptions · 18/02/2023 09:24

I have a daughter then a son but any plain stuff like basic t-shirts I pass down and if I have 2 girls or 2 boys everything would get passed down.

I give my daughters things to my friends daughter I've given her swimming costumes but not pants but I've given vests.

I think if stuff still has wear in it environmentally it's good to pass things down there's a lot of waste in the world.

dizzydizzydizzy · 18/02/2023 09:32

No. They get worn out.

KangarooKenny · 18/02/2023 09:48

Yes

Crumpetdisappointment · 18/02/2023 09:48

my dd now 23 bought her swimsuit from a charity shop
cant see why not

Kalasbyxor · 18/02/2023 09:56

Definitely! Everything is passed from DD1 to DD2. 3 year age gap. Saves such a lot of money. Most of it is hand-me-downs or second hand already, but you'd never know; I look after our clothes.

I figure there is no need for anyone to buy any new items of clothing in the UK for at least a couple of years, there is so much excellent second hand stuff for sale on eBay and in charity shops.

purpledalmation · 18/02/2023 11:52

Of course. Things are washed and swimwear often has minimal wear

Unless you never wash either, I don't see a problem. The world is drowning in crap, reduce, reuse, recycle is the way forward.

This.

I do, though dd2 has different tastes to dd1 so it doesn't always work.
