Teach with leadership responsibilities. I do spend a fair amount of time looking at screens but certainly a lot of time face-to-face with people as well

Advanced social worker

I childmind and foster. My husband is a joint foster carer with me and his main job is a paramedic. We both earn over that each. We live in south Scotland.

I was thinking the same. Everything is taught via the whiteboard these days isn't it?

I meant smart board!

maddy68 · 19/02/2023 11:01

Teaching. But still use a computer a lot of the time

Woodendonkey · 19/02/2023 11:03

Marketing. I use a computer but certainly don’t spend all day staring at it. Usually in idea generation sessions etc

tunainatin · 19/02/2023 11:10

Academic researcher. Spend some days each week looking at a screen but interspersed with other things. I love my job.

Squirrelsnut · 19/02/2023 11:12

DP is a self employed sports coach and earns a lot more than £40k in the SE. He’s very highly qualified in his sport though, for the first few years it was probably more like £30k although you can basically earn as much as you’re willing to work for once you have the clients.

I am a specialist teacher working 1:1 with children out of school for medical reasons. I use screens for my planning but not for the actual teaching much. It’s very varied depending on the needs of the children I am working with.

Vet. Do use a computer but only in short bursts when writing clinical notes.
